Best Time to Visit Dalai Hills

The best time to visit Dalai Hills in Mussoorie is either March to June (summer) or September to November (post monsoon). I visited the place in late April, and the weather was cool and pleasant. At this time, I got to see the blooming rhododendrons on the trek path, offering a stunning contrast to the surrounding white peaks. The post-monsoon season is another great choice for backpackers who wish to spend time in a quieter environment.

March to June (Summer)It is the peak tourist season, offering pleasant weather and clear skies. It is one of the best places to visit in June in India. The temperature ranges from 15°C to 25°C, perfect for walking up the hill and photography.
September to November (Autumn)This is considered the best time for hiking. The temperature of 10-20°C is comforting after the monsoons. Additionally, it offers the best views with vibrant prayer flags in the clear sky surrounded by greenery.
December to February (Winter) The winter months are chilly with 0-10°C, but great to see snowfall. You have to carry winter clothes like gloves, caps, and heavy woollens to enjoy the early morning frost when the prayer flags look amazing.
July to August (Monsoon)Although the atmosphere is extremely eye pleasing with lush greenery, it gets very slippery and muddy due to rain. Not recommended for elderly individuals who already have mobility issues.
