Most Hindu temples welcome people from all walks of life and offer similar tranquility to all, just like Birla Mandir, Delhi. 

Delhi has about 590 major temples and over a thousand minor Hindu temples, but each has a different significance and belief. 

My visit to the temple was filled with serenity and calmness, even though it was quite crowded that particular Saturday. 

The peace and calm silence of this temple grew on me and filled me with lasting energy.

Birla Mandir Delhi: A Brief Overview 

Birla Mandir, also known as the Laxminarayan Mandir, is dedicated to Lord Narayan and his wife, Goddess Laxmi. Along with that, this temple also has several small shrines for Ganesha, Shiva, and Hanuman, among other gods. 

The temple was built in 1939 and is spread over an area of 7.5 acres. Despite being so old, the temple is well-maintained and still shining with its vibrant red and yellow colors.  

Birla Mandir is built in the Grand Nagara Style, which is commonly visible in almost all temples, like the Konark Sun Temple and Vaitheeswaran Koli temple. 

It is said that the inauguration of the temple was done by Mahatma Gandhi on the condition that everyone could have entry into the temple irrespective of their religion and caste.
