Pracheen Hanuman Mandir Connaught Place, is one of the five ancient temples built by the Pandavas of the Mahabharata epic period, after they won the Kurukshetra war against the Kauravas. 

Later on, several significant modifications were made in the temple, such as: 

1. According to legends, Tulsidas, who wrote Ramacharitamanas, visited the Hanuman Temple Delhi during Mughal rule (1532–1623), hymning the praise of Lord Hanuman. Later, he was summoned by the Mughal emperor and asked to perform a miracle, which he did with the blessings of Lord Hanuman. This impressed the Emperor, so he added an Islamic crescent moon finial at the temple spire. 

2. Reportedly, the temple was originally built by the Maharaja Man Singh I of Amber (1540–1614), who was the first most trusted and reliable member of the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. 

3. In 1724, Maharaja Jai Singh reconstructed this famous Hanuman Mandir in Delhi, after which it became a notable sacred place in Central Delhi, attracting thousands of devotees every year.

Simple yet magnificent, I was amazed by the Hanuman Mandir Connaught Place architecture. At the entrance only, the main dwar (gate) was beautifully created by impressive artwork. When I entered, near the central mandap, the walls were adorned with the enormous paintings, presenting major epics from Hindu mythology, the Ramayana. 

However, the temple was constructed using a red sandstone facade, featuring intricate carvings depicting different ancient stories and religious symbols. It also holds some major influence of traditional Rajasthani design. 

Furthermore, after a while, I sought blessings from other Hindu deities, such as Lord Radha and Krishna, Goddess Durga, Laxmi Narayan, and many others, placed in several small shrines in the temple.

2. By Train: New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) is the closest railway station, which is only 2 KM away from the mandir. You can take a direct rickshaw from here. 

3. By Metro: Rajiv Chowk on both the Blue and Yellow lines of the Delhi Metro Map is the nearest metro station to the Hanuman Temple Road. It will take only a 4–5 min walk to reach the temple. 

4. By Road: Whether you are a resident or a tourist, you can take a local bus run by the Delhi Transportation Corporation, which will drop you off at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.
