“Roads were made for journeys, not destinations.”

 – Confucius (Philosopher)

What better way to spend your weekend than going out on a road trip with your family or friends? It might come as a surprise, but road trips have profound healing powers that nurture the mind, body, and soul. (BookAirportCab: The Healing Powers of Road Trips)

Imagine you rent a Lambo in Dubai, ready to hit the road, surrounded by your loved ones, music blasting in your car, stopping on the way to try the local restaurants, meeting new people, and whatnot, sounds like the perfect recipe for unforgettable memories, doesn’t it?

As someone who has had the privilege to experience this quite a few times now, I have decided to help you plan your trip. So, stay tuned as I share everything you must know to prepare for your road trip in Dubai.

When is the Best Time to go on a Road Trip in Dubai?

After driving in the scorching months, I learned the hard way that the best time to go on your highway adventures is during the cooler months of late October to early March. The temperature usually ranges from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius during this period, making it the perfect time for outdoor exploration and a comfortable journey.

Choosing a Suitable Vehicle

You can consider different vehicles for your road trip in Dubai, since the roads there are really well-maintained and easy to navigate. I have always trusted Phantom Rent A Car Exclusive Car Hire in Dubai to find the perfect vehicle for my journeys for a comfortable and smooth experience.

Remember that, the vehicle you choose should align well with the location you decide on. For instance, if you are going to more off-road areas or deserts, then renting a 4*4 or a jeep with suitable features would be the best choice.

DO YOU KNOW?
According to findings, being in nature, seeing famous landmarks, and trying local restaurants are the most preferred things to do on a road. Alt Text: Things to do on a road trip.

Top Road Trip Destinations in Dubai

Doesn’t matter if you like tranquil mountains or endless deserts, you will find it all in Dubai. But it can be quite confusing to choose from the wide variety of options, isn’t it? That is why, I have listed down four of my favorite and most popular choices for an outdoor trip in Dubai.

Jebel Hafeet: Stunning Mountain Scenery

Stunning Mountain Scenery

If “mountains calling” is your vibe, Jebel Hafeet is the spot for you. It is one of the highest peaks in Dubai, and it usually takes around 2 hours of driving to reach. The scenery there left me speechless and engraved in my mind forever.

A tip I would like to add here is that do not forget to take your camera with you at any cost, the views this place has to offer are otherworldly and can truly be called a photographer’s delight.

Liwa: Vast Deserts and Endless Dunes

Vast Deserts and Endless Dunes

Liwa, a place where all one can see are golden deserts and endless dunes, as far as the eyes go. But that is not it, as I navigated through this mesmerizing place, I came across various heritage sites, forts, and even the towering Tal Mireb.

This experience turned even more memorable when my friends and I got the opportunity to end our day witnessing the beautiful sunset from the luxurious Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort.

Hatta: Natural Pools and Majestic Mountains

Natural Pools and Majestic Mountains

Hatta, if there is heaven anywhere, this is exactly how I expect it to look. The turquoise dams and picturesque mountains appear to be straight out of a fairy tale. But its scenic landscape is not the only thing worth remembering at this place.

I also participated in various adventure activities including kayaking, zip lining, and biking that left me filled with adrenaline and asking for more. Though it requires a bit of off-roading, trust me, if you are with the right people, even it can turn into an enjoyable for you, and the view you get as a result is obviously magical.

Ras Al Khaimah: A Serene Retreat

Ras Al Khaimah

After getting tired of the hustle and bustle of city life, my friends and I decided to visit Ras Al Khaimah. Even a small getaway at this place was enough to fuel me up with the spark.

The luxury records, aesthetic café, white sandy beaches, and all surrounded by lush palm trees and steep mountains left such a deep mark on my mind that this place has now become one of my favorite destinations in Dubai.

FUN FACT
The Ritz-Carlton in the Al Wadi desert offers falcon and owl shows, where visitors can hold a falcon and learn about the history of falcons in Arab culture.

Bonus Tips for Road Trips in Dubai

After you have decided on the time, vehicle, and place for your highway experience, make sure to check out these tips to ensure a stress-free journey.

  1. Packing Essentials: Do not forget to keep an emergency first aid kit, insect repellent, chargers, toiletries, and other routine stuff you need. Also, if you already have an activity in mind for the location, prepare well for that and pack the necessary gear and equipment for it.
  1. Keep Your Documents With You: Since this is a road trip, you cannot forget your driving license at any cost. In case you are renting a car, ensure all the rental paperwork and other related papers are in order.
  1.  Navigation Tools: Trust me, it doesn’t take long for an enjoyable road trip to turn into a frustrating labyrinth. One wrong turn and, it is gone. That is why, keep some reliable navigation tools or maps to navigate through the highways.
  1. Plan Ahead and Book Accommodation: Plan everything properly to avoid any last-minute complications and confusion. In case you are going on a multi-day getaway, book hotels in advance to save a safe and secure place for you to stay, especially during peak tourist seasons.
